Photographing nothing,
with feeling.

You’ve walked by my favorite subjects thousands of times: forgotten little corners of a shopping mall, empty stairwells in parking structures, or rusty, weathered utility boxes. Nothing, really. But when we take the time to celebrate the unseen or seemingly unremarkable, we might be surprised by their charm, appeal, and beauty.

This gallery is a visual record of many such moments of realization and emotion. I’ve learned and discovered much about myself through this process. I’m hopeful it has a similar effect on you.

I am a designer, art director, and perpetually tired father. I’m also hyper-aware of my surroundings and always on the lookout for compositional opportunities. No good at small talk. Recovering picky eater. Former junior bowling champion.
